Self-righteousness defiles EVERYTHING meant for the good and the glory of God, and is the seed of ALL evil. If you have established self-righteousness, you are indeed under a delusion whereby dysfunction is guaranteed.
Be mindful that God’s Grace and Mercy are established WITHIN His righteousness, and not our own sense of righteousness(self-righteousness). The Holy Spirit bears witness to my message to you.
1.Disobedience
2 Timothy 3:1-7 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy. Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good. Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
2.Delusion
2 Thessalonians 2:10-11 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
3.Dysfunction
Proverbs 1:31-32 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.
4.Depravity
Isaiah 5:20-21 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
5.Destruction
Matthew 7:13-14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Advice
A piece of heartfelt advice to a fellow believer, it would be this: Reflect deeply on your life and identify any areas where self-righteousness might have taken root, and then work diligently to let it go.
Self-righteousness, a subtle yet profound distortion, WILL taint all that is meant for good and for the glory of God. It WILL corrupt the fruits of the Spirit, altering the very essence of virtues like love, mercy, forgiveness, faith, patience, kindness, honor, respect, obedience, discernment, knowledge, and understanding. When these virtues are corrupted, they WILL spread their distortion through our homes, communities, and politics.
This spiritual dysfunction has become so desensitized and normalized that its presence is often unnoticed. But as believers, we’re called to a higher standard of awareness and authenticity in our spiritual walk. Recognizing and uprooting self-righteousness is not just about personal growth; it’s about preserving the purity of our faith and the integrity of our witness to the world.
Self-righteousness is never isolated, it spreads to other major areas of our lives, and it distorts our view of the world and our individual experiences. Self-righteousness is the seed of all evils, breeding pride, greed, disobedience, envy, hate, dishonor, anger, unfaithfulness, disrespect, depravity, degeneracy, adultery, vanity, fornication, violence and unforgiveness, among other negative traits. It leads to a breakdown in moral and spiritual integrity, causing widespread dysfunction and destruction throughout the world.
